Born in Nuneaton, he won the Silver Medal for low amateur at the 1995 Open Championship ahead of Tiger Woods. Turned professional and claimed his European Tour card by winning the Qualifying School later that year. Has played in excess of 500 events since, winning twice at the Open d’Italia in 2005 and the inaugural Portugal Masters in 2007. Has struggled with a wrist injury in recent years. Coached mentally by Andy Duncan, and technically by Pete Cowen.
