Claimed his fourth European Tour title in the 2013 Africa Open, winning by two shots from compatriot Jaco Van Zyl and Frenchman Grégory Bourdy. Was his second win in eight months following his success in the 2012 SAINT-OMER OPEN presented by Neuflize OBC, having waited eight years since the last one, the 2003 Qatar Masters. There he beat fellow South African James Kingston and credited the help of his wife Natasha, a trained sports psychologist. Two years before that, had made the most of his opportunity on The European Tour when he captured the 2001 Sao Paulo Brazil Open to earn a two year exemption. Winner of the 1999/2000 Sunshine Tour Order of Merit and partner to Retief Goosen in representing South Africa at the WGC – World Cup that year.
