Turned professional at the end of 2004 following a hugely successful amateur career in which he won the English Amateur Championship and the Lytham Trophy in 2004. Won his first Challenge Tour title two years later at the 2006 Ecco Tour Championship. Would have to wait ten years to return to the winners' circle at the SSE Scottish Hydro Challenge, where he carded a course-record equalling round of 62 en route to a winning total of 21 under par. Returned to the European Tour in 2017 for the first time in nine years after finishing inside the top 25 at Qualifying School Final Stage.
