Turned professional at the end of 2004 following a hugely successful amateur career in which he won the English Amateur Championship and the Lytham Trophy in 2004. Smashed the Lytham Trophy’s previous record score by ten clear strokes and achieved a total score which left him five shots better than Tom Lehman’s winning total in The 1996 Open Championship at Royal Lytham and St Annes. A protégé of Britain’s most successful golfer, Nick Faldo, he won the prestigious Faldo Series in 2002 and became the first member of Team Faldo, such was the impression he made on the six time Major winner. Faldo continues to influence his career with help and advice. Joined The European Tour after a successful season on the 2006 Challenge Tour where he recorded his maiden professional win at the ECCO Tour Championship in Denmark en route to finishing 12th on the final Rankings.
