Holds an impressive record on home soil, having come close to winning his first tournament as a professional at the Challenge de España in the summer of 2009, when he finished in a tie for third place behind Welshman Rhys Davies. Also tasted success in two Qualifying School campaigns at European Tour Destination PGA Catalunya Resort, taking the 24th card in 2010 and the 20th card in 2014. First took up golf aged ten after being introduced to the game by his grandfather. Went to the University of Arizona in America, but returned home to Madrid a year later to complete his degree in Marketing and Commercial Management. Hopes to emulate the achievements of his friend and stable mate Gonzalo Fernandez-Castaño, who since graduating from the Qualifying School in 2004 has captured seven European Tour titles. His sporting heroes are Rafael Nadal and Fernando Alonso, and he also enjoys hunting in his spare time.
