Was disconsolate after his beloved Real Madrid were beaten 5-0 by their fierce rivals Barcelona in November last year, but the smile returned to his face the following week when he took the 24th card at the 2010 Qualifying School Final Stage, held in his native Spain. Holds an impressive record on home soil, having come close to winning his first tournament as a professional at the Challenge de España in the summer of 2009, when he finished in a tie for third place behind Welshman Rhys Davies. First took up golf aged ten after being introduced to the game by his grandfather. Went to the University of Arizona in America, but returned home to Madrid a year later to complete his degree in Marketing and Commercial Management. Will hope to emulate the achievements of his friend and stablemate Gonzalo Fernandez-Castaño, who since graduating from the Qualifying School in 2004 has captured four European Tour titles. His sporting heroes are Rafael Nadal and Fernando Alonso. Also enjoys hunting in his spare time.
