Biography

Made a stunning return to The European Tour in 2011 by winning three Challenge Tour events in the same season. Indeed, the Frenchman's hat-trick of victories - at the Credit Suisse Challenge, the English Challenge and the Rolex Trophy - came within five events, and he returned to the big stage having lost his card in 2010, finishing 142nd in The Race to Dubai in his rookie season. Turned professional in 2009 and won his European Tour card at the second attempt through the Qualifying School. Started playing golf at the age of ten after being introduced to the game by his parents, both of whom are sports teachers and lived in the French Polynesian island of Tahiti for a period during his youth. Played for the French Amateur team for three years, and also represented his country in the Eisenhower Trophy. Won the European Amateur Championship in 2007 to earn a place in the field for The 137th Open Championship the following year. Played alongside Rory McIlroy in the Lytham Trophy in 2007, and cites the Northern Irishman, as well as Spaniard Sergio Garcia, as an inspiration for his own career. Was mentored and helped financially by French Ryder Cup player Thomas Levet, who passed on the knowledge of PGA Catalunya Resort he had garnered from his 2009 Open de España victory to help him graduate from the Qualifying School Final Stage in 11th place. Also enjoys playing tennis, football and surfing.
