Initially struggled in his first season on The European Tour, in 2010, missing the cut in his first five events, but enjoyed a fine spell late in the season, coming tied second in the Czech Open 2010, fourth in the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, tied ninth at the Portugal Masters and tied third in the CASTELLÓ MASTERS Costa Azahar to finish 50th in The Race to Dubai. Took seventh place in the 2009 Challenge Tour Rankings to graduate to The European Tour, having won the Tusker Kenya Open, the first event of the season, a second round 64 paving the way to his maiden professional title. Comes from the same management stable as his friend and compatriot Ian Poulter, and spent a month in the winter of 2008 practising with the Ryder Cup player in America, which he claimed provided the foundations for his success in Kenya. A keen Manchester United fan, which causes much banter between him and Arsenal-mad Poulter. Also shares his flamboyant friend’s penchant for wearing colourful clothing.
