Provided the story of the 2012 Challenge Tour Grand Final, where he was the 45th and last man to qualify and ended the week clutching a European Tour card having tied for second place. Needed to hole a six foot putt at the last to ensure he finished joint runner-up and duly did so - despite admitting he could not feel his arms - to rise to 16th place in the Rankings. Said he had gone into the week to "enjoy it and try to make a few quid" but finished it having secured a rookie season on the European Tour in 2013. All did not go to plan thereafter, however, and had to endure three frustrating years trying to overcome a serious hip injury. Has a medical extension for 2016 as a result. Was not the first time he has spent a long time on the sidelines – a car accident nearly ended his career a month after he turned professional and prevented him from playing for two years. Slowly returned to form and came through the Europro Tour in 2011 to earn a full season on the Challenge Tour.
