Biography

The son of a former European Tour professional, the Welshman took to life on the Challenge Tour like a duck to water when he earned a first title just four events into his rookie season on the second tier, at the Turkish Airlines Challenge. Dedicated the victory to his grandfather, who had passed away earlier that week, prompting him to consider pulling out of the tournament before his family convinced him to play in honour of the late Malcolm. Did so in great style as he came from three shots back in the final day to storm to victory. A third place finish at the season-ending Dubai Festival City Challenge Tour Grand Final hosted by Al Badia Golf Club secured his path to the big time as he ended the year in tenth position in the Rankings. Farr was inspired to play golf by his father Graham, who twice played The Open Championship and how coaches and advises his son. Says Tiger Woods was his ultimate golfing idol growing up.
