Made a phenomenal start to his European Tour career by leading from the start in the 1999 Moroccan Open, only to miss out to Miguel Angel Martin at the sixth hole of a sudden-death play-off. The following week he was not to be denied, winning the European Grand Prix in only his second outing on The European Tour. Born in London of Welsh parents, started the game after watching his father play. Earned Walker Cup honours in 1997 before turning professional later that year. Coached by Tim Barter, a regular interviewer and analyst on Sky Sports’ golf coverage.
