For the first time this year the Challenge Tour has a double-header this week with the NCC Open taking place in Sweden as well as the Diners Club Austrian Open at Millstatter See.
The NCC Open is again being played at Soderasens Golf Club where the field is generally made up of Scandinavian players plus a sprinkling of British, French and Germans.
A notable absentee is defending champion Johan Rystrom who is in Berlin playing thew German Open. But the man he beat by a single shot last year, Fredrik Larsson is in action along with the joint third placed players, Charles Challen and Mikael Lundberg.
A year ago, Rystrom took a four-shot lead into the final round and was almost caught, his one-over-par 72 for 276 proving just enough to edge out Larsson, who returned 68.
The NCC Open, formerly called the Siab Open, has been played at Soderasens since 1986 and only once has a non-Scandinavian won the title, when England's Jon Evans won in 1991.
This week's tournament is worth over 63,000 euro, (approx £45,000) with the winner collecting over 10,000 euro.
