Mark Litton from Wales and Germany's Erol Simsek share the lead after the first round of the Finnish Masters in Helsinki.
Both returned five-under-par scores of 67 to lead by one from two Danes, Thomas Norret and Knud Storegaard, a pair of Spaniards, Ivo Giner and Jose Manuel Lara, and Lucas Parsons from Australia.
Litton, who was out in the afternoon, collected seven birdies but put his success down to a hot putter. "I sank a whole lot of putts," he said.
Litton was later joined by Simsek, who had five birdies but also produced the shot of the day when he holed a 125-yard wedge for an eagle-two at the fourth.
Five more players are bracketed on 69 including Swedes Erik Andersson and Eric Carlberg.
On a day of near perfect conditions, English teenager Justin Rose, making his second Challenge Tour appearance after finishing fourth on his debut in the Diners Club Austrian Open in June, went round in 75 to finish well down the field.
