Englishmen Robert Dinwiddie and Zane Scotland, along with Norwegian Peter Kaensche, shared the lead after the first round of the MAN NÖ Open on the European Challenge Tour in Austria.

The trio all carded five under par 65s at Golfclub Adamstal at Ramsau to take a one shot lead over the field.

Of the trio, Scotland had the most adventurous round of the day with eight birdies in total – including six in eight holes from the first – which were offset by a bogey at the 13th and a double bogey five at the short 16th.

Fellow countryman Dinwiddie fared slightly better with only one bogey in his opening effort, at the 13th, but he made up for that with six birdies elsewhere including three in a row from the second hole.

Of the trio of pacesetters, Kaensche produced the most solid opening effort, not shedding a single shot to par and carding birdies at the second, sixth, eighth, 11th, and 12th.
