The doc Salbe PGA European Challenge will resume at 8.15am on Sunday with the leaders completing their remaining 12 holes of the third round.

Darkness forced play to be suspended in the fog-delayed event at 8.26pm, with Scotland's Peter Whiteford holding a two shot lead over Spain's Carlos del Moral, the new course record holder at Golf & Vital Park Bad Waldsee in Germany.

Del Moral had returned to the Golf & Vital Park Bad Waldsee in Germany on Saturday morning and walked off with a new record of 63. He was later joined in the lead on 12 under par by Whiteford, who shot another six under par 66.

After six holes of the third round, Whiteford had moved to 15 under, two ahead of his playing partner, three under for the round to del Moral's one under. The biggest move was being made by Northern Ireland's Gareth Maybin, who was five under for the day through nine holes to climb to 12 under alongside England's David Dixon and Gary Clark.
