The beautiful Mediterranean region of Antalya, where this week’s inaugural Turkish Airlines Challenge hosted by Carya Golf Club is being held, is fast emerging as an ideal destination for golfing breaks.

With 14 courses dotted along a 14.4km stretch of coastal land, golfing fanatics could visit for a fortnight and need never play the same course twice.

Last year more than 100,000 golfers, drawn mainly from Britain, Germany and Scandinavia, played about 490,000 rounds, with the numbers expected to increase again this year.

Serviced by Antalya international airport, the region also boasts no fewer than 48 five-star, all-inclusive hotels.

Murat Konuk, General Manager of Carya Golf Club, said: “With suitable weather all year round and so many good quality courses to choose from, golfers who come to Antalya really are spoilt for choice.”
