The record books show that the winner of the inaugural ALLIANZ Open de Lyon – Alexandre Kaleka – was the ninth player to win on his Challenge Tour debut. The two players preceding him in that list were Martin Kaymer and Edoardo Molinari. Kaymer has gone on to win five European Tour titles and break into the World’s top ten, while Molinari topped the 2009 Rankings with record earnings and three victories, as well as winning the 2009 Omega Mission Hills World Cup in China for Italy in partnership with his brother Francesco.
