Italian Matteo Delpodio warmed up for the Pacific Rubiales Colombia Classic with one-shot win at the Open Samanah on the Satellite Alps Tour.

The 26 year old, who finished in 85th place in the final 2011 Challenge Tour Rankings, captured his fourth Alps Tour title after closing with a round of 69 for a five under par aggregate winning total.

Delpodio, who won the Alps Tour Order of Merit in 2010, will now head to Baranquilla Country Club, in Colombia, for his first Challenge Tour appearance of the 2012 campaign.

He said: “I’m going to enjoy my win. It was difficult to come back and play on the Alps Tour, because everybody was expecting me to be on top of the leaderboard, so I wanted to do well. I’m very happy and now hopefully I can take my good form with me to Colombia.”
