Three of the Challenge Tour’s young guns, Alexander Levy, Scott Henry and Andreas Hartø will battle it out in the final group on Championship Sunday at the Kazakhstan Open all harbouring hopes of claiming the biggest win of their respective burgeoning careers.

Frenchman Levy has emerged from the shadows of the 2012 European Challenge Tour season having started the year without a category before finishing tied third in the Fred Olsen Challenge de España in June and pushing on since then.

The 22 year old has pedigree in the amateur ranks, holing what turned out to be the crucial putt, a 50-footer in Buenos Aires, to win the World Amateur Team Championships in 2010 with France.

Henry is no stranger to success either having won several titles as an amateur, including two Scottish Boys Championships and a Scottish Amateur Strokeplay Championship, and as a former Jacques Léglise Trophy Captain he is man with plenty of mental fortitude and so is unlikely to be fazed by the occasion.

Hartø has been the picture of consistency this year having struggled to make an immediate impact on The European Tour last year after a swift elevation in 2010, when he won two Challenge Tour titles including a debut victory as an amateur at his home championship in Denmark before securing a card a Qualifying School later that year.

Peter Uihlein is alongside Hartø in tied third place and maybe, relieved of the pressure of playing in the final group, he might sneak up from the pack and claim his first professional win after a glittering amateur career in which he held the significant title of being the World Amateur Number One.

He plays alongside two players who already have a Challenge Tour title each under their belts, Jamie McLeary and Mark Haastrup. Will experience prove the deciding factor for those two?

Whichever way it goes, we’re in for a thrilling day at the Challenge Tour’s ‘Major’. Keep a close eye on it right here on the Challenge Tour website.
