- The course has over 95 very large and spectacular looking bunkers
- One of the bunkers is over 140 yards long with more than 15 large fingers jutting out into fairways with a further five or six fingers coming out of each
- Course is built on 15 metres of ash deposited in this area over a period of 40-45 years
