Frenchman Victor Riu was on fire in the third round of the Swiss Challenge, playing his first nine holes in six under par to move into the lead.

Riu, who was in contention in last week’s Bad Griesbach Challenge Tour by Hartl Resort, enjoyed a stunning front nine carding four birdies and an eagle to move to 15 under par.

That was four ahead of Korean Sihwan Kim, who was two under through ten, and his playing partner Jamie Elson, the overnight leader by two, who birdied the tenth to get back to level par for the round.

Young American Brinson Paolini, playing his first tournament as a professional, earlier finished with a brilliant seven under par 64 to set the target at ten under.
