Benjamin Hebert parred the final two holes of his opening round to maintain his lead at the rain-delayed Norwegian Challenge, where the first round will finish this afternoon and round two will tee off this evening.

The three-time European Challenge Tour winner, whose victories all came in 2011 and earned him automatic promotion to The European Tour, had carded a sumptuous six under front nine and another birdie at the second to lead overnight after play was halted for the day due to heavy rain and flooding.

He parred all the way in, resuming his round this morning on the eighth tee before earning the clubhouse lead thanks to a seven under par 65, one shot clear of Norwegians Anders Engell and amateur Aksel Kristoffer Olsen.

Dane Luca Bjerregaard, Nacho Elvira of Spain, Englishman James Heath and Norway’s Joakim Mikkelson were all three shots off the lead after signing for four under par rounds of 68.
