What. A. Day

It was hard to keep up there at times, but thanks for sticking with us if you did. Congratulations Ricardo Gouveia, an incredible champion and a worthy winner of the Road to Oman Rankings.

Here's our final report:

Record-breaker Ricardo seals dramatic double in Oman

Ricardo Gouveia capped an incredible season with a stunning victory in the NBO Golf Classic Grand Final, winning the Road to Oman Rankings with the highest total earnings for a season in European Challenge Tour history.

Gouveia's gonna getcha!

Five birdies in succession have handed the Rankings leader a two-shot lead. His walk down the 18th with be a Road to Oman Rankings victory lap at the very least!

Gouveia leads

Road to Oman Rankings leader Ricardo Gouveia extends his birdie streak to four in a row and now leads outright from Jeff Winther on 12 under par.

Jeff Winther has company once again at the top of the leaderboard as Callum Shinkwin birdies the 12th to move to 11 under par.

And now Ricardo Gouveia has made a third birdie in a row at the 14th and he too is 11 under par!

Behind them Max Orrin has a setback at the par five 16th, taking six to drop back to nine under par and on the borderline of the top 15, and European Tour status.

That's why he's our Rankings leader...

Back-to-back birdies at 12 and 13 from Ricardo Gouveia see the Portuguese up to ten under par and just one shot behind Jeff Winther. Can the 24 year old finish a remarkable year in perfect style?

Winther running hot

Six under par for today's round, Jeff Winther is out in front on his own after back-to-back birdies on 12 and 13. Max Orrin, Brandon Stone and Callum Shinkwin are his closest rivals at ten under par and, intriguingly, the forecast winds are yet to really pick up - there could be trouble ahead if they do.

Rhys Davies has birdied the 12th to move up to nine under par alongside Scott Henry and Joachim B Hansen, while Thomas Linard, Ruaidhri McGee, Ricardo Gouveia, James Robinson, Jens Dantorp and Nacho Elvira are on eight under par and well in the hunt.

Movers and shakers

What a round - potentially life-changing - Scott Henry is putting together! The Scot is five under par and within one shot of the leaders. As things stand he would provisionally jump up into the top 15 of the Road  to Oman Rankings - potentially at the expense of compatriot Jamie McLeary.

Jeff Winther birdies the 12th to move to ten under par and co-leading where he is joined by Max Orrin and Callum Shinkwin. Five players now lead, with a further nine within two shots. Drama alert!

Oh, we're halfway there...

The leading groups are now through the front nine so let's have a recap of what the opening few horus have done to the leaderboard.

Joachim B Hansen bogeyed the ninth but still leads on ten under par, alongside playing partner Brandon Stone who has played flawless golf for a round of four under par so far.

Hot on their heels are Jeff Winther, Callum Shinkwin and now Max Orrin. The Englishman has just gone eagle-birdie on 12 and 13 to move to nine under par. The 21 year old won here al Almouj Golf, The Wave 12 months ago, remember.

A clutch of players sit on eight under par, including Ricardo Gouveia, Rhys Davies and Scott Henry, who is four under par today and needing a high finish to have a chance of making the top 15 in the Road to Oman Rankings.

JB leads

There are still a lot of birdies to be found on the course at the moment and Joachim B Hansen has just rolled in his fourth at the par three eighth hole to take the outright lead on 11 under par. Brandon Stone is also four under par for his round and just one shot back, alongside Callum Shinkwin, who bounced back from a bogey at the sixth to birdie seven and return to ten under par.

Shinkwin and Hansen lead

This leaderboard changes every time you look at it, but at present it is Joachim B Hansen and Callum Shinkwin who lead the way on ten under par. Jeff Winther and Brandon Stone are breathing down their necks though on nine under par, with a further 11 players at six under par or better.

Gouveia gunning for glory

With an air of inevitablility, Road to Oman Rankings leader Ricardo Gouveia now has a share of the lead. He birdies the sixth to join five others on eight under par. A disappointing day for the Portuguese yesterday saw him drop from ten under par.

But wait...! Jeff Winther birdies the seventh to take the outright lead on nine under par.
