What is the Jordan Mixed Open presented by Ayla?

The Jordan Mixed Open presented by Ayla is the first professional golf tournament to bring male, female and senior golfers together in one field to compete for the same prize.

Who is playing?

There will be 40 players from each of the European Challenge Tour, the over-50s Staysure Tour and the Ladies European Tour as well as three high-level amateur golfers, who will make up the 123-player field.

What is the tournament format?

The Jordan Mixed Open presented by Ayla will be a 54-hole stroke play event, with a cut to the top 60 players and ties for the final round. The player with the lowest score for the tournament will win the Jordan Mixed Open.

Where is the tournament being played?

The Jordan Mixed Open presented by Ayla is being played at Ayla Golf Club in Aqaba, Jordan. Ayla Golf Club is part of Ayla Oasis, a waterfront development situated along Jordan’s Red Sea coast. Ayla offers a mix of residential, touristic, commercial, and entertainment offerings, creating a well-balanced and dynamic community in an idyllic setting.

How will the course be set up?

Players will compete from one of three sets of tees based on which tour they play.

Challenge Tour players will compete from approximately 7,100 yards.

Staysure Tour players will compete from approximately 6,601 yards.

Ladies European Tour players will compete from approximately 6,139 yards.

What about pin positions?

Despite the differences in trajectory and spin rates between players from the three Tours, pin positions will be accessible to all players who have driven the ball well and are approaching the green from the correct position in the fairway.

Who is setting the course up?

Ensuring the fairest possible playing field for all competitors is the collective priority for course set up. Officials from all three tours will work together each morning to set the course up as fairly as possible in accordance with the day’s weather conditions.

What is the prize fund?

The Jordan Mixed Open presented by Ayla has a total prize fund of USD $393,000, with the winner earning $60,465.

What about the trophy?

In addition to the winner’s cheque, the Jordan Mixed Open presented by Ayla champion will receive the Triquetra Trophy. The trophy, which is constructed of 15kg of cut crystal and measures 60cm in height was designed using an ancient ‘triquetra’ shape of three interconnected loops. The word ‘triquetra’ is Latin for ‘three-cornered’ and, although the exact origins are unknown, examples of its use date back over 5,000 years.

The live leaderboard for the Jordan Mixed Open presented by Ayla will be available at europeantour.com/staysuretour, challengetour.com and ladieseuropeantour.com.

Daily highlights will be made available after the conclusion of play.
