A FINE PAIR OF FOOTJOY WINS FOR KARLSSON AND CRANE

FootJoy ambassadors Robert Karlsson and Ben Crane stride to victory with FootJoy, the #1 Shoe and Glove in Golf.

FootJoy, the #1 Shoe and Glove in Golf, is once again celebrating victories for FootJoy ambassadors on both the European Tour and PGA Tour. Robert Karlsson won the Commercialbank Qatar Masters wearing the all new FJ ICON shoes while Ben Crane won the Farmers Insurance Open wearing the FootJoy DryJoys®.

The win is Karlsson’s first in 16 months after he was sidelined for four months last year suffering from blurred vision caused by fluid behind the retina in his left eye. The win elevates Karlsson from 137th to just outside the top 20 on the Ryder Cup points table and puts the former European number one in line for the 2010 Ryder Cup team. Karlsson topped a leaderboard dominated by FootJoy as he narrowly beat FootJoy loyalists Brett Rumford, Lee Westwood to take the title.

FootJoy ambassadors Gregory Bourdy and Rory McIlroy take top two spots in penultimate event of 2009

Latest independent figures reveal FootJoy’s continued dominance of the golf glove market.

The most recent Golf Datatech UK retail audit reveals that FootJoy, the #1 Shoe and Glove in Golf, once again recorded impressive market shares for sales of its market leading golf glove range. FootJoy dominated the volume brand share at 43.9%, which was over six times greater than its closest rival. The brand registered an even stronger performance within the ‘on-course retail channel’ figures, by achieving 50.3% of the volume brand share; nearly seven times more popular than its nearest competitor.

Such is the quality of the entire golf glove product line-up, FootJoy gloves were also on top in the breakdown of total unit model share sales.

FOOTJOY EXTENDS ITS LEAD AT THE TOP OF THE UK GOLF GLOVE MARKET

Latest figures reveal that FootJoy has strengthened its grip on the golf glove market

FootJoy, the #1 Shoe and Glove in golf, recorded high market shares within the UK golf glove sales market over the last year (July 2007 to June 2008), according to the most recent Golf Datatech UK retail audit. FootJoy dominated the volume brand share at 48.2%, which was up 4.2% when compared to the same period the previous year, in addition to being six times greater than its closest rival.

FootJoy’s microbrands also held the top three positions in the breakdown. The WeatherSof® was #1 with 14.5% of the market sales, closely followed by the WeatherSof GTX (12.4) and SciFlex™ (9.4%) that were #2 and #3 respectively; all three models were significantly ahead of the nearest competitor model at 3.1%.


FOOTJOY TO THE FORE AS STARS TACKLE THE ELEMENTS AT BIRKDALE

As the 137th Open Championship returned to Royal Birkdale, FootJoy continued its reign as #1 Shoe at The Open

Yet again the vast majority of the field at the 137th Open Championship chose to take to the fairways in the supreme comfort and performance afforded by FootJoy shoes, just as they have done at the Open Championship for the previous 28 years. A total of 91 players, including seven of the top ten and ties, all placed their trust in the comfort and performance of FootJoy; this represents 58.3% of the total field, more than triple that of the nearest competitor with just 16%.

Furthermore, 27 players faced the extreme weather conditions in FootJoy outerwear, including 4 from the top 10 and ties.


FISHER CONQUERS THE ELEMENTS TO WIN IN STYLE WITH FOOTJOY

FootJoy ambassador Ross Fisher overcomes adverse weather conditions to claim majestic victory at The European Open

Ross Fisher not only had to contend with a world class field at the London Club this week but also rapidly changing playing conditions. With the help of FootJoy, the #1 Shoe and Glove in Golf, the young Englishman performed with style and skill to destroy the field and win by an incredible seven shots to take the European Open title. From the hard, fast links-like conditions on Thursday to the wind and torrential downpours of the final day on Sunday, Fisher coped considerably better than the rest to outscore a strong line-up of Europe’s finest golfers.

Fisher recorded a course record 63 on Thursday and then followed that with three more rounds in the 60’s to register a 20-under par total.
