Christmas is just around the corner, and what better gift for golf enthusiasts in the family than tickets for The European Tour’s flagship event, the BMW PGA Championship 2010, and an opportunity to be among the first to experience a brand new look for the world-famous West Course at Wentworth Club.

The extensive renovation of the West Course will be complete by the time many of the world’s best players grace the Surrey venue, promising to heighten the tension and drama like never before.

Advance tickets are now on sale for this eagerly anticipated event, from May 20-23 2010, allowing you to give a loved one the chance to see the exciting new design and bold alterations, not to mention the wealth of golfing talent competing for one of the sport’s most coveted titles.

Reductions of up to 25% are available on tickets purchased before December 18, 2009 on www.europeantour.com/tickets. Adult season tickets, which guarantee entry to Wentworth Club for the full week of the BMW PGA Championship 2010, are on offer at a pre-Christmas price of £45, saving £5 on the advance price (before May 14) and £15 less than the gate price during the week of the Championship.

Substantial savings can be made on the adult weekend pass, on offer before December 18 for £35, saving £5 on the advanced price and £15 on the gate price of £50.
Any one day adult passes can be purchased at the pre-Christmas price of £22, a saving of £3 on the advanced price and £8 on the gate price. Significant savings are also on offer for senior citizen, disabled and unaccompanied junior tickets, full details of which can be found at www.europeantour.com/tickets.

At the BMW PGA Championship 2009, Englishman Paul Casey won an enthralling battle with compatriot Ross Fisher to claim the trophy, getting up and down from a bunker at the last to seal a memorable win. Immediately after the tournament finished, work began on the ambitious remodelling of the course’s greens.

All 18 have been  replaced with colonial bent grass to USGA specifications, and on the 18th hole a new water hazard will run parallel to the right-hand edge of the fairway from 90 yards out, then across the front portion and down the left side of the green. The green itself has been moved to the right and reshaped to provide a potentially treacherous closing hole, adding to the excitement of the spectators and the nerves of the players.

Peter Walker, General Manager, Sports Marketing, BMW UK, said: “We have already started our planning for the BMW PGA Championship 2010 which we are sure will attract one of the best International fields ever on the newly designed and renovated West Course at Wentworth. With Christmas just around the corner we are delighted therefore to offer tickets at a special pre-Christmas price of £45 for all four days, which represents tremendous value for money”.

Jamie Birkmyre, Championship Director, The European Tour, said: “The BMW PGA Championship is the ‘crown jewel’ on The European Tour International Schedule and we are delighted to offer the true golfing enthusiast the perfect Christmas present for less than the price of a ticket for a London West End theatre show. Our advance purchase pricing means that we are much better value for money than just about any local sporting entertainment.

“Next year will be particularly exciting as it will be the first European Tour event on the remodelled  West Course. The changes to the landscapes and the different challenges the greens will pose the players will surely make for a fantastic event.”
