Lloyd Saltman, the young Scottish amateur who announced himself to the world by winning the Silver Medal at the 134th Open Championship at St Andrews, fired a six under par 65 to top the leaderboard at PGA Golf de Catalunya on day one of The European Tour Qualifying School, Second Qualifying Stage.

A total of 328 players teed off at four venues in Spain today, all hoping to secure one of the 79 places available for the Final Qualifying Stage.
