Sweden’s Johan Edfors roared his way to the Barclays Scottish Open title after an inspirational final round of eight under par 63 at the stunning Loch Lomond Golf Club. Edfors teed off a full two hours before, and six strokes behind third round leaders Thomas Björn and Darren Clarke, but was soon plundering his way through the field on a birdie rampage, and set a tantalising clubhouse lead of 13 under par 271 that none of his opponents could match.
Northern Ireland’s Darren Clarke displayed all the talents that make him one of the most gifted golfers on the planet to produce a marvellous second round of six under par 65 and move into a three stroke lead at the Barclays Scottish Open at the mouth-watering Loch Lomond Golf Club.
Sweden's Johan Edfors, twice a winner already this season, sprinkled nine birdies in a six under par 65 to share the lead with Scotland's David Drysdale in the first round of The Barclays Scottish Open at sun-dappled Loch Lomond Golf Club. Edfors and Drysdale took advantage of calm and sunny conditions at the picturesque venue to move one stroke ahead of Northern Ireland's Darren Clarke and Miles Tunnicliff of England.
The United Kingdom becomes the focal point of world golf over the next two weeks, and although The Open Championship at Hoylake is undeniably the main course, Loch Lomond Golf Club will serve up a deliciously tasty appetiser this week in the form of The Barclays Scottish Open.
