Reuters - Former European Number One Lee Westwood and the in-form Spaniard Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano are poised for a head-to-head in the final round of the Valle Romano Andalucia Open at Aloha Golf Club in Spain.

Despite bogeying the last two holes on Saturday, Westwood heads Fernandez-Castano by a stroke after shooting a seven under par 65 to move to a 15 under par total of 201.

Fernandez-Castano, after a timely swing overhaul by his coach, is relishing taking on the 2000 Harry Vardon Trophy winner and lurks on the Englishman's shoulder after a 67.

Westwood announced himself "delighted" at turning his putting fortunes after nearly two years frustration and brushed off his disappointing finish that denied him the opportunity to lower the course record of 64 he himself had set on Friday.

"It was a tough finish and I got myself into two awkward spots, but I'm delighted with the way I'm playing," Westwood said. "I came here with the aim of finding a putting stroke. I've ticked all the boxes on that and I can now build up some confidence."

Westwood has an excellent record of front-running and is optimistic of adding his 17th Tour title, three and a half years after his last win.

"I'm a pretty good front-runner and I've probably got more experience than anyone in the field of winning," Westwood added.

Fernandez-Castano, last week's Telecom Italia Open champion, commented: "Lee is a very experienced player but I hope I can give him a hard time tomorrow."

Overnight leader Louis Oosthuizen of South Africa (69), bidding for a maiden win, and Swede Michael Jonzon (66), trying for his second victory after a gap of ten years since winning the Portuguese Open, are a further shot back.
