Cleveland Golf/Srixon has stepped up their support for the Senior Tour by becoming the official Tour workshop for 2010.
The two brands, which are already the headline sponsors for one of the leading events on the Senior Tour, the Scottish Seniors Open, have now invested in the Seniors Tour on a large scale by delivering their tour truck to key events on the 2010 schedule.
So far the Cleveland Golf/Srixon tour truck has visited three tournaments and has serviced hundreds of players, providing a first-class service to every Senior Tour professional, no matter what their manufacturer allegiance.
“There’s no doubt that having the Cleveland Golf/Srixon tour truck out on the Senior Tour is an invaluable asset to the players,” said Iain Clarke, Cleveland Golf/Srixon tour manager. “As a result we have increased the number of Cleveland Golf/Srixon tour ambassadors two-fold and are regularly servicing in excess of 50 golfers at each event. It’s not just important to be on hand for those essential equipment tweaks like grinding and shaft changes, but we also provide a vital service to players who lose or break clubs, which inevitably happens when so much travel is involved.”
Seniors golf is booming in the UK. Of the five million golfers, over 30% are aged 50 and over, therefore by supporting the Seniors Tour Cleveland Golf and Srixon are giving back to the game while creating great brand awareness among their largest customer base.
“The Seniors market is vitally important for all golf brands because seniors account for such a high percentage of golfers in the UK,” said Ben Davis, Cleveland Golf UK/Northern Europe Marketing Manager. “We are the only golf manufacturer to sponsor a Seniors Tour event, and by becoming the official Senior Tour workshop, we have now firmly established ourselves as an essential component on the Seniors’ circuit.”
The Cleveland Golf/Srixon tour truck is currently travelling to Wales for the Ryder Cup Wales Seniors Open at Royal Porthcawl this week.
