FootJoy, the #1 Shoe & Glove in Golf, has claimed another European Tour victory at the weekend, as FJ brand ambassador Louis Oosthuizen cruised to victory by three shots at the Maybank Malaysian Open. Oosthuizen enjoyed his fifth European Tour victory by recording an impressive four round total of 17 under par. The 29 year old South African defied the psychological fatigue of being pipped to a second Major Championship by fellow FootJoy loyalist Bubba Watson at Augusta National last Sunday, to bounce back with this impressive win, displaying his relentless mental and physical strength.

The victory moves Oosthuizen to second in The Race to Dubai rankings (€1,293,705), just a whisker behind fellow FJ loyalist and World #1 Rory McIlroy. Impressively this is his third consecutive season he has won more than €1 million in a single season, and he now sits just outside the Top 10 in the Official World Golf Rankings.

The 2010 Open Champion trusted his traditional saddle DryJoys Tour golf shoes and the unrivalled fit and performance of his FJ SciFlex glove, helping him keep a firm grip on the chasing pack. Rising Spanish star Rafael Cabrera-Bello was one of those pushing Oosthuizen for the trophy. As always with Rafa he was looking sharp, kitted out head to toe in the new FJ Apparel range, FJ ICON™ shoes and RainGrip™ Glove. Rafa opts for RainGrip in the humid conditions, due to its ability of providing fantastic grip, even when the hands start to sweat. FootJoy’s dominance on tour continues as 64% of this week’s field chose the unrivalled comfort and fit of FJ golf shoes, compared to just 19% for its nearest competitor.

“Louis has been in imperious form this year having already won on home soil at the Africa Open in January, as well as narrowly missing out on victories at the Masters and the Houston open over the last three weeks. The consistency of Louis’ golf through 2012 is incredible, especially considering the grueling schedule that he has taken on over the last three weeks, showing his true passion for the game. We wish Louis continued success for the rest of the season.” Commented Russell Lawes, European Marketing Manager, FootJoy.

Whether it is the all-round excellence of the all-new FJ ICON™, the reliability and consistent performance of  DryJoys Tour™, or the athletic performance of the FJ Sport™, FootJoy remains the overwhelming favourite for golfers of all abilities around the world.
