Donning a “YOUR1” hat to celebrate the official Tour launch of TaylorMade Golf’s hotly anticipated R1, Scotland’s Stephen Gallacher used his adjustable driver to win his second European Tour Title at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic. TaylorMade was the No. 1 driver brand in play at the Tournament, including 33 R1 drivers (25% of the field played an R1 driver), making this TaylorMade's most successful driver launch to date. Three of the Top 5 players in the field also used an R1.

TaylorMade studies indicate that 80% of golfers are playing a driver with the wrong loft, costing them distance. “YOUR1” is what the R1 driver becomes after each golfer tunes and optimises their individual launch. Gallacher has his R1 set up as follows: loft 12°, face 2° open, 8g weight in the toe and 3g in the heel. With 12 degrees of loft, Stephen Gallacher is able to achieve his ideal spin rate of 2,300 rpm’s which enables him to maximise his carry distance.

Gallacher also wore adidas Golf’s incredibly light adizero footwear. Available in three colourways, adizero touts adidas Golf’s thinnest outsole ever and is specially designed with ultra-light materials to deliver Tour-proven performance without sacrificing stability.

With the win, Gallacher is expected to move into the Top 60 of the Official World Golf Rankings, making him eligible for the WGC Match Play later this month.
