The momentum of the #1 ball in golf was further enhanced this weekend, as the legendary Pro V1 franchise was trusted by more players around the world resulting in a multiple win weekend for Titleist. Titleist Brand Ambassadors Bernd Wiesberger and Scott Piercy both put their trust in Titleist from tee-to-green, headlining a five-win weekend that takes Titleist’s worldwide golf ball win count past the century mark, with 102 wins in 2012. Wiesberger and Piercy were joined by fellow Pro V1x loyalists Ben Kohles, Allan Versfeld and Xin Jun Zhang, who recorded victories on the Web.com, South African and China Tours respectively.
At the Lyoness Open on the European Tour, Titleist Brand Ambassador Bernd Wiesberger trusted Titleist throughout his bag and became the first player to utilise the 913D3 prototype driver to winning effect. Wiesberger’s winning Titleist equipment included the legendary Pro V1 golf ball, 913D2 driver, 910F fairway metal, AP2 and CB irons, Vokey Design Spin milled wedges and a Scotty Cameron Studio Select Fastback putter. Wiesberger’s final round 65 included a stunning 6-under par back nine which propelled him to a three stroke win and the second European Tour victory of his career. Titleist Brand Ambassador Thomas Levet (Pro V1) also put the Titleist 913 driver into play, finishing tied for second alongside two others. The overwhelming majority of the field put their trust in the performance excellence and consistency of the Pro V1 franchise, with 100 players choosing Titleist golf balls, compared to 15 for the nearest competitor.
On the PGA Tour, Titleist Brand Ambassador Scott Piercy trusted the Pro V1x and a full bag of Titleist equipment to capture the RBC Canadian Open. Piercy’s winning equipment also included the 910D2 driver, AP2 and MB irons, Vokey Design SM4 wedges and Scotty Cameron GoLo putter. Piercy edged Pro V1 loyalist Robert Garrigus and one other after firing a final round 67 to post a 17-under par total, tying the oldest 72-hole scoring record on the PGA Tour. There was further success for Titleist towards the top of the leaderboard as Titleist Brand Ambassador’s Bud Cauley and Chris Kirk, and Pro V1x loyalist Josh Teater finished tied for fourth. The Pro V1 and Pro V1x continued to dominate with 103 players choosing Titleist compared to 15 for the nearest competitor. Titleist also topped the counts for irons, wedge and putters.
Elsewhere on the Web.com Tour, Titleist Brand Ambassador Ben Kohles (Pro V1x) edged Pro V1x loyalist Luke Gothrie to win the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Invitational in his first professional start. On the South Africa Tour, Titleist Brand Ambassador Allan Versfeld (Pro V1x) won the Vodacom Origins of Golf by three shots. On the China Tour, Xin Jun Zhang (Pro V1x) won the China PGA Champions Tour Shandong event for his second career win on the circuit. These victories across the worldwide professional tours take Titleist’s 2012 golf ball win count to 102, compared to 12 for the nearest competitor.
Second career victories on the European and PGA Tours for Titleist Brand Ambassador’s Bernd Wiesberger and Scott Piercy, coupled with further victories around the world, continues to prove that the world’s best players opt for the performance excellence of Titleist for their success.
