Titleist was the overwhelming favourite at the 2012 Glenmuir PGA Professionals’ Championship and the 2012 Powerade PGA Assistants’ Championship as PGA Professionals followed the example set by their counterparts from across worldwide professional tours in trusting the feel and precision of Titleist equipment. This overwhelming trust in Titleist equipment saw the brand dominate the equipment counts at both Championships.
Titleist was the preferred choice of the field at the 2012 Glenmuir PGA Professionals’ Championship held on the Nicklaus course at De Vere Carden Park. The world renowned Pro V1 and Pro V1x led the way for Titleist by topping the golf ball count, with 81% of the field, including the eventual Champion, placing their trust in the #1 ball in golf. The success of Titleist equipment continued throughout the bags of the club professionals as Titleist topped the driver and fairway categories with 44% and 37% of the field respectively. In addition, Titleist also topped the counts for iron sets with 49% of players trusting the feel and playability of Titleist irons, compared to 10% for the nearest competitor. Titleist Vokey Design wedges, designed by master craftsman Bob Vokey, were also the overwhelming choice of the field registering a 52% count in the wedge category, over four times that of the nearest competitor with 12%. In support of the event, and for the first time in the history of the Glenmuir PGA Professionals’ Championship, the Titleist Tour Support Vehicle was on site to provide the players with the same outstanding level of support that is experienced each week by Titleist Brand Ambassadors on the European Tour.
At the 2012 Powerade PGA Assistants’ Championship held at East Sussex National Golf Resort & Spa, Titleist once again emerged as the equipment of choice. As was the case at the Glenmuir Professionals’ Championship, the legendary Pro V1 franchise led the way for Titleist as the choice of both the field and the eventual champion. In total, 101 players from a field of 119 (84.9%) trusted the feel and control of the #1 ball in golf. The success of Titleist in the golf ball category was replicated in a number of other key equipment categories as Titleist topped the counts for drivers, iron sets and wedges respectively. In the driver category, the total performance and precision fit of Titleist 910 drivers contributed to Titleist topping the driver count with 37% of players. Titleist’s Tour proven 712 iron range, which includes the AP1, AP2, CB & MB iron models, also helped Titleist top the count for iron sets with a total of 48 players (40.3%), over three times the nearest competitor with 11.8%. Titleist also dominated the wedge category, with 58% of the field choosing a Vokey Design wedge, compared to 11% for the nearest competitors.
