Peter Uihlein (Pro V1x) continued the stunning form of Titleist Brand Ambassadors on the European Tour this weekend, topping the leaderboard at the Madeira Islands Open to mark the third consecutive win for a player trusting Titleist equipment. Following Brett Rumford’s victories at the Ballantine’s Championship and Volvo China Open, Uihlein posted a 15-under par total to win his first European Tour title in Portugal. Uihlein becomes the first American to win the event and follows in the footsteps on 2012 European Tour Rookie of the Year and fellow Titleist Brand Ambassador, Ricardo Santos, who won his first European Tour title at the same event last year. There were further wins for Titleist Brand Ambassador’s on the Web.com and OneAsia Tours, as Titleist equipment remains the choice of champions around the world.

Uihlein trusted Titleist from tee-to-green en route to a two shot win, including the Pro V1x golf ball, 913D3 driver, 913F.d fairway metal, 712U utility iron, 680 irons, Vokey Design gap, sand and lob wedges, and Scotty Cameron putter. Uihlein was joined towards the top of the leaderboard by fellow Titleist Brand Ambassador’s Mark Tullo (Pro V1x) and Morten Orum Madsen (Pro V1x) who finished tied for second on 13-under par. Following a stunning 8-under par 64 on Friday, Uihlein closed with rounds of 68 and 69 to complete victory and secure a European Tour exemption until the end of the 2014 season. Titleist was also the choice of the majority of the field with 116 players relying on the legendary Pro V1 franchise, more than five times the nearest competitor with 21.

The all-Titleist top-3 in Portugal underlines the success of the #1 ball in golf at the highest level of the game. Uihlein becomes the tenth different Titleist golf ball loyalist to win on the 2013 European Tour, including Titleist Brand Ambassador Adam Scott (Pro V1) who won the first Major of 2013 at the Masters, and first time European Tour winners Jamie Donaldson (Pro V1x) and Chris Wood (Pro V1x) who were victorious at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship and Commercial Bank Qatar Masters respectively. Other winners who have trusted the performance and consistency of Titleist golf balls to earn victory are Louis Oosthuizen (Pro V1x), Kiradech Aphibarnrat (Pro V1x), Marcel Siem (Pro V1x), Thomas Aiken (Pro V1x) and the winner of the Omega Dubai Desert Classic.

Elsewhere, on the Web.com Tour, Titleist Brand Ambassador Mark Anderson (Pro V1x) broke the tournament scoring record at the BMW Charity Pro-Am, posting a 27-under par total to record a five shot win ahead of fellow Titleist Brand Ambassador Tom Hoge. On the OneAsia/Korean Tour, Titleist Brand Ambassador Matthew Griffin won his second title in less than a year, topping a leaderboard that included 14 Titleist players among the top 15 who finished in the top-10 and ties. These victories take Titleist’s 2013 worldwide win count to 58 across worldwide professional tours, compared to 15 for the nearest competitor.

A maiden European Tour title for Titleist Brand Ambassador Peter Uihlein, marking the third consecutive win for a Titleist Brand Ambassador on the European Tour, continues to prove that more of the world’s best players trust the performance, quality and consistency of Titleist to deliver success.
