Full line Titleist player Peter Uihlein completed the Titleist success story on the 2013 European Tour after he was crowned Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year. The award completes a stand-out season for Uihlein which has seen him claim his maiden European Tour title and finish in the Top-10 on seven occasions on his way to finishing 14th on the final Race to Dubai rankings.
Having started the season with playing rights on the European Challenge Tour, Uihlein made his mark on Europe’s biggest stage when he fired rounds of 72, 64, 69 and 68 to win the co-sanctioned Madeira Islands Open, immediately making the step up to play on the European Tour’s international schedule. Trusting a full bag of Titleist equipment, Uihlein continued his sensational form throughout the 2013 season and narrowly missed out on becoming the first player to shoot 59 on the European Tour when he fired a stunning 12-under par round of 60 at Kingsbarns during the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
Uihlein trusted a host of Titleist equipment throughout the season, including the Pro V1x golf ball, 913 D3 driver, 913 Fd fairway metal, 712U utility iron, MB irons, Vokey SM4 pitching, sand and lob wedges and Scotty Cameron Newport putter. Continuing the success of players putting their trust in Titleist, Uihlein becomes the third Titleist Brand Ambassador to win the coveted Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year Award in the last four seasons, following Ricardo Santos (2012) and Matteo Manassero (2010).
Uihlein clinching the Rookie of the Year Award completes another hugely successful year for Titleist Brand Ambassadors and Titleist golf ball loyalists on the European Tour, with players putting their trust in the legendary Pro V1 franchise amassing an impressive 23 wins, compared to five for the nearest competitor. Amongst the list of winners was Pro V1x loyalist Henrik Stenson, who joined Uihlein in re-writing the record books by becoming the first player to win the FedEx Cup on the PGA Tour and Race to Dubai on the European Tour in the same season. Early season wins for Titleist Brand Ambassadors Kiradech Aphibarnrat and Brett Rumford at the Maybank Malaysian Open, Ballantine’s Championship and Volvo China Open were complimented by Adam Scott winning his maiden career Major at The Masters. Titleist Brand Ambassador Matteo Manassero also entered the winners’ circle at the European Tour’s flagship event, the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth, alongside Michael Hoey who claimed victory in Russia, headlining a sensational season for players trusting Titleist equipment throughout their bags on the European Tour.
A fantastic Rookie of the Year award for full line Titleist player Peter Uihlein completes a stellar season for Titleist Brand Ambassadors and a record breaking week for Titleist golf ball loyalist Henrik Stenson on the European Tour in 2013. This, combined with the constant flow of victories for Pro V1 players around the world, once again proves that the best players in the world opt for the superior performance of Titleist.
