Brooks Koepka follows fellow Titleist Brand Ambassador Peter Uihlein in collecting the European Tour’s Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year Award after a stand-out debut season

Brooks Koepka trusted Titleist from tee-to-green throughout the 2014 Race to Dubai and rounded off another season of success on the European Tour for Titleist as he was crowned Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year. Koepka’s award completes a hat trick of consecutive titles for Titleist Brand Ambassadors after his good friend Peter Uihlein claimed the same honour in 2013, and Ricardo Santos in 2012. It completes a fantastic 2014 for the American after he finished eighth on the Race to Dubai and also secured his maiden European Tour title at the Turkish Airlines Open, as well as recording four further top ten finishes.

Koepka broke through on to the European Tour in 2013 after a trio of victories on the Challenge Tour secured him an automatic promotion to Europe’s biggest stage. Koepka quickly made his mark with a tied third place finish at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic, before gaining confidence on the global stage to finish tied fourth at the U.S. Open. The American also recorded impressive finishes at the USPGA Championship, where he tied for 15th, and the Omega European Masters, where he finished tied for third, before entering the winners’ circle at the Turkish Airlines Open in November, the penultimate event of the 2014 season.

Koepka trusted a host of Titleist equipment through his bag including the Pro V1x golf ball, 915D2 driver, 915F fairway metal, CB and MB irons, Vokey Design SM5 pitching, gap and lob wedges, and Scotty Cameron GoLo 5 putter. His victory at the Montgomerie Maxx Royal marked the first week that he had played the new 915D2 driver in competitive play, as he became the second player to win with the new 915 family, after fellow Brand Ambassador Alex Levy won the Portugal Masters.

Koepka clinching the Rookie of the Year Award completes another hugely successful year for Titleist Brand Ambassadors and Titleist golf ball loyalists on the European Tour. Players putting their trust in the legendary Pro V1 franchise amassed an impressive 25 wins, compared to five for the nearest competitor. In total, 3,829 players put a Pro V1 or Pro V1x into play during the 2014 season, compared to 761 for the nearest competitor. The impressive lists of winners started at the very first event of the season, where Pro V1x loyalist Morten Ørum Madsen took the South African Open title, and concluded at the closing DP World Tour Championship, where Pro V1x loyalist Henrik Stenson successfully defended his title.

A well-deserved Rookie of the Year award for Titleist Brand Ambassador Brooks Koepka to complete a stellar season for Titleist loyalists on the European Tour in 2014, combined with the constant flow of victories for Titleist players around the world, continues to prove that the world’s best players trust the superior performance and consistency of Titleist for their success.
