Rory McIlroy is one shot of the lead going into the final round as the Northern Irishman looks to warm up for his US Open Championship defence with victory in Memphis.
The World Number Two carded a two over par 72 to slip from one in front at halfway to one behind Australian Nick O’Hern and Americans Davis Love III and John Merrick.
McIlroy’s round was littered with six bogeys but there were four birdies, including an important gain at the 18th.
McIlroy is not the only European in contention for the St Jude Classic, with Irishman Padraig Harrington and Swede Fredrik Jacobson on three under, three off the lead.
Jacobson’s compatriots Henrik Stenson and Daniel Chopra and Korean Noh Seung-yul are on two under.
