As another month passes by it can mean only one thing: the second instalment of our Shot of the Month for 2013, where you could win a £100 voucher for our shop just by picking your favourite.
February’s five come courtesy of three trips to the southerly most tip of the African continent as the Joburg, Africa and Tshwane Opens all treated us to some top golf throughout the month.
Shot One: First up is one of two offerings from Charl Schwartzel as he showcased his excellent escape skills from the left rough during the first round of the Joburg Open, hooking a delightful short iron round the trees in front of him to set up a short birdie effort at the 17th.
Shot Two: Once again from the undergrowth in Joburg, Schwartzel showed off some more exquisite shot making to hook another short iron around the grandstand that lay some 10 yards in front of him, pitching on the green and narrowly missing the hole for an unlikely birdie at the par five 18th during day three.
Shot Three: Richard Sterne might have narrowly lost out at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic the week prior to the Joburg Open, but it was shots like this from a bunker at the par five last to set up a birdie in round three that ensured the South African went one better just seven days later and pick up his sixth European Tour title.
Shot Four: Darren Fichardt waited nine years for a third European Tour title before winning the Saint Omer Open last June and some eight months later he repeated the feat, thanks in some small part to this roller coaster birdie putt at the 13th in round three, to win the Africa Open.
Shot Five: Dawie Van Der Walt has been playing much of his golf on the US based Web.Com Tour, but he was grateful for his return to his native South Africa where his fearless play on Sunday at the Tshwane Open, including this fine effort on the last, resulted in a maiden European Tour title.
Now all you have to do is pick your favourite from these five by logging in and voting through My European Tour, and if you are our winner, you could find yourself with £100 to spend in our official shop.
