This week European Tour Weekly is in Northern Ireland for The Irish Open. It promises to be a spectacular event as the cream of The European Tour comes to Carton House Golf Club, County Kildare, as it returns to the venue for the first time since 2006. In total there will be seven Major champions on display, including World Number Two Rory Mcllroy, and as usual ETW will be on the range getting the thoughts from the players.
At Royal Portrush twelve months ago Welshman Jamie Donaldson produced what he later described as the best golf he has ever played in securing his maiden Tour victory at the 255th time of asking. Donaldson produced eight birdies in his final round to win emphatically by four shots and he tells ETW about he managed to claim the win.
Our review comes from the BMW International Open in Munich, which was celebrating its 25th anniversary, and ETW will bring you the best of the action from Golfclub München Eichenried.
Next month Royal Birkdale hosts The Senior Open Championship Presented by Rolex, where teeing up for the first time as a Senior Tour player will be Colin Montgomerie. The man affectionately known as Monty captured 31 titles on the European Tour and won the Harry Vardon Trophy a record eight times, and is now looking forward to taking on the likes of Sam Torrance, Ian Woosnam and Sandy Lyle. In the first part of an exclusive interview Monty spoke to ETW about turning 50 and his thoughts on competing on The European Senior Tour.
Together with all of the latest news and statistics from the Tour, this completes another edition of European Tour Weekly.
