England’s James Heath surged ahead in the second round of the European Tour Qualifying School Second Stage at Las Colinas Golf and Country Club in Spain with a five under par 66.

The Challenge Tour player followed up a superb 64 with another impressive round to reach 12 under par at the halfway stage, three shots ahead of South African Brandon Stone (69) and four in front of Welshman Liam Bond (67), who was a joint winner of the First Stage Section D at Frilford Heath.

Seventeen spots are up for grabs at Las Colinas for the Final Stage later this month, which takes place at PGA Catalunya Resort, also in Spain.
