Overnight leader Rhys Enoch was joined at the top of the leaderboard of the European Tour Qualifying School First Stage Section A by Matthew Cort at The Roxburghe Hotel and Golf Course in Scotland.
Englishman Cort fired an impressive 66 to join the Welshman on 11 under par, one shot clear of England’s Chris Rodgers and Scotland’s Mark Hillson, with Northern Ireland’s Jonathan Caldwell and American Brinson Paolini two strokes further back.
Meanwhile at Fleesensee Golf and Country Club in Germany, Sweden’s Marcus Larsson established a six shot lead over the field after a bogey-free round of 64 left him on 17 under par.
His compatriot and co-leader after the second round, Richard Pettersson, is his nearest rival after shooting 70, with Finnish amateur Lauri Ruuska and German Dominik Pietzsch two shots further back on nine under par.
After four rounds, the top 23 players and ties from Fleesensee and the top 18 and ties from The Roxburghe will progress to the Second Stage, which will be played across four Spanish venues in November.
The drama will once again climax at the PGA Catalunya Resort near Girona, Spain, from November 14-19, where the top 25 players and ties will earn a European Tour card for 2016.
