Aberdeen Asset Management will become the first title sponsor to leverage a Twitter Amplify campaign in partnership with the European Tour during this week’s Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open, at Castle Stuart in Inverness.
The European Tour has teamed up with Twitter Amplify to offer brands the opportunity to put themselves at the heart of the social media conversation by sponsoring the European Tour’s innovative premium content, including instant in-round video clips and highlights.
Aberdeen Asset Management, a strong supporter of Scottish Golf at all levels of the game, will be the first sponsor to take advantage of this, reaching European Tour fans via exclusive branded clips across all four days of tournament play from July 7-10, at Castle Stuart, where the field includes Luke Donald, Russell Knox, Shane Lowry, Martin Kaymer, Graeme McDowell, Henrik Stenson and Phil Mickelson.
Rufus Hack, The European Tour’s Head of Media, Digital and Strategy, said: “We are delighted to announce our first Twitter Amplify activation with Aberdeen Asset Management at this week’s Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open.
“Utilising Twitter’s Amplify product will deepen engagement with our fans and provide an enhanced commercial return for our sponsors. The world is moving into a new digital era where many consumers are changing the way they consume content, and by working closely with Twitter through Amplify we are delivering near live tournament highlights for our fans, whilst placing the sponsor’s brand messaging at the heart of the conversation in real time across the Twitter platform.”
Jill Maxwell, Group Head of Sponsorship & Corporate Events at Aberdeen Asset Management said: “We’re looking forward to collaborating with the European Tour and Twitter on this Amplify campaign. To be able to pre-select the type of content and demographic we run our brand ads against is hugely beneficial to us as we continue to raise awareness of our brand across the globe.”
Theo Luke, Head of Twitter Amplify EMEA, said: “Twitter is excited to have Aberdeen Asset Management as the first Amplify sponsor of the European Tour. Through Twitter Amplify, Aberdeen Asset Management is able to extend their brand association beyond the attendees present at the Scottish Open to a vast and engaged golf audience on Twitter.”
