This past year saw plenty of highlights on the course but there was also some notable content being shared online. Both fans and players have shared moments on social media that have sparked golf media and conversation. 

On the European Tour channels we try and share all of this content, whether on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook but as continue our festive roundup the European Tour social media team have pulled together their favourite Player videos, photos and posts over the last 12 months.

Best photo - Renato Paratore’s Golfer Tan

Every golfer can relate to a golfer’s tan but not many on Tour have such a contrasting hand tan than young Italian Renato Paratore. Known for his quick play, the Rome native is one of only a few golfers to putt with his glove on - hence the tan.

The most-watched video ever tweeted by the European Tour came the morning after the Sunday evening celebrations of the Ryder Cup. 

Contributions to GIFs - Tommy Fleetwood Ryder Cup Celebrations

The emotion of the Ryder Cup and the big moments always provide great opportunities to add the the GIF library, especially when Team Europe celebrations are involved. Playing a leading role on his debut, Tommy Fleetwood also led the celebrations. You can imagine the surprise when we saw Tommy crowd surfing with fans minutes after Europe won back the Ryder Cup.

Supporting role - Captain Thomas Bjørn

For the end of season finale DP World & the European Tour got some of the winning European Ryder Cup team together to take part in a challenge, hitting shots off the Queen Elizabeth 2. Every ship needs a captain, step forward Captain Bjørn.

Miguel Ángel Jiménez provided Tommy Fleetwood with a new hairstyle during the Honma Hong Kong Open last month.

Beginners luck? Keri Paisley was on the bag of her husband Chris on his way to his first European Tour win in South Africa. 

Best on Instagram - Brandon Stone

If you’re interested in seeing the world, enjoy fast cars, enjoy good coffee and love dogs Brandon Stone is worth following on Instagram. It’s been a crazy year for the young South African.

Notable mention - Ian Poulter Q&As

Using Instagram stories, Ryder Cup hero Poults did several fan question & answers between tournaments, providing fans great insight to life on Tour. 

Best on Twitter - Francesco Molinari
It’s been a year one Italian won’t forget. Francesco, who tweets regularly, offers his fans an honest insight into his season. The Race to Dubai Champion can often be seen tweeting his brother, fellow European Tour player Edoardo and his coach Denis Pugh, both equally entertaining.
