Christiaan Bezuidenhout has been voted Hilton Golfer of the Month for June having won his maiden European Tour title at the Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucía Masters hosted by the Sergio Garcia Foundation.
The 25 year old South African received 41 per cent of the public vote, edging out Italy’s Guido Migliozzi who came in second with 26 per cent after winning his second European Tour Title in Belgium.
Searching for his first European Tour win, Bezuidenhout started the final round with a commanding five-shot lead. Four bogeys in five holes on the front nine looked to have potentially given the chasing pack a glimmer of hope but he settled the ship with three birdies in a row and cruised home to a six-shot victory.
Italian Guido came in second after capturing his second win of the season at the Belgian Knockout. The 22 year old rookie sailed through the qualifying stages with rounds of 70-66 and was then unstoppable in the match-play, beating three tour winners from this season alone.
Rahm came in third place after strong performances on both sides of the Atlantic. He followed up a tied thirdfinish at the U.S. Open, his best finish in a Major Championship, with a second place showing at the Andalucía Masters in his native Spain
Andrea Pavan rounded off the June voting. Pavan won the BMW International Open in dramatic fashion, beating Matt Fitzpatrick in a play-off in Munich.
