The most successful golfer in European Senior Tour history extended his remarkable run with victory in the 2011 Benahavis Senior Masters, his 25th title. Became the most prolific winner on the Senior Tour with a record breaking 24th win earlier in the season, which also came in Spain at the OKI Open de España Senior by Cleveland Golf/Srixon. Had previously equalled Tommy Horton’s benchmark of 23 Senior Tour titles by winning the Bad Ragaz PGA Seniors Open in spectacular style in 2010, following a triple bogey in the final round with a hole in one. It was his third success in that event and came just weeks after he became the first player to break through the €2million barrier on the Senior Tour. Has won in each of his nine seasons on the Senior Tour – equalling another of Horton’s records - and came close to winning The Senior Open Championship in 2003 – his rookie year – when he lost in a play-off to Tom Watson at Turnberry. Topped the Order of Merit in 2003, 2004 and 2007 and finished runner up to Sam Torrance in both 2005 and 2006. Won twice on The European Tour, both titles coming in 1994 when he recorded his highest finish in the Order of Merit, ending the year in 19th position. Was a rules official on the Senior Tour before turning 50.
