Fourth place in the OKI Spanish Senior Open by Cleveland Golf/Srixon was the highlight of his second Senior Tour campaign as he finished the year in 32nd position on the Order of Merit, a steady improvement from 41st position in his debut season. Made a flying start to his Senior Tour career, finishing tied fifth on his debut in the Handa Senior Masters presented by The Stapleford Forum and recording a further five top 20 finishes. Won the 2009 Senior Tour Qualifying School in style with a final round 67 to finish three strokes clear of the field, having progressed through First Stage a week earlier. His 14 under par 270 total at Pestana Golf Resort was the lowest 72 hole total at the Qualifying School since 2001. Made it a hat-trick of Harrisons on the Senior Tour, following in the footsteps of elder brothers Philip and Steve. Played on The European Tour in 1984 but has spent most of his career concentrating on his job as a club professional at Matfen Hall near Newcastle upon Tyne and coaching in the North East region of England. As a coach his successes included two-time European Tour winner Kenneth Ferrie.
