Came through the Challenge Tour Rankings in 2011, finishing 14th, and several times has come close to winning his maiden European Tour title. Led heading into the final round of the 2014 Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship but faded badly on the final day. The previous season he lost at the first extra hole of a play-off against Thomas Bjørn at the Omega European Masters, where he carded a ten under par 61 in round three. Will compete on the top tier for a fourth successive season in 2015 after a consistent finish to the 2014 campaign, in which he made 11 cuts in 12 appearances. Played his first season on The European Tour in 2008 after coming through the 2007 Qualifying School – a friend lent him the money for the entry fee and he won the First Stage before embarking on a 190-hole, 15-day marathon to complete the Second and Final Stages. The former Scottish Boys Stroke Play champion subsequently lost his card after finishing 186th, and dropped back to Scottish PGA events in 2009 before working his way back up to the top tier.
