Made history as he thrashed Scott Jamieson 4&3 becoming, in the process, the first player ever to take five points from five in Continental Europe's victory at the 2013 Seve Trophy. Had a flying start to the qualifying period for the 2014 European Ryder Cup team with victory in the ISPS Handa Wales Open. Triumphed in stunning fashion, finishing with three consecutive birdies to move two strokes clear of Peter Uihlein. Won his third European Tour title at the UBS Hong Kong Open in November 2009, and nearly added another in 2011, finishing runner-up in the Maybank Malaysian Open and the Wales Open. Clinched the 2008 Estoril Open de Portugal following his maiden European Tour title at the 2007 Mallorca Classic, where he became the 18th first time winner of the season to set a new European Tour record. Started playing at the age of four with the encouragement of his golf-loving family. The family interest in the sport is maintained by cousin Nicolas Beaufils who has played on the Challenge Tour, while another cousin has represented France in equestrianism. Narrowly missed out on keeping his card at the end of the 2005 season but did well enough in his 20 starts in 2006 to regain his playing privileges by right, finishing 102nd on the Order of Merit. Enjoys the cinema and watching all sports, as well as playing tennis, badminton and squash. Coached by Olivier Leglise near Biarritz.
