Made a stunning breakthrough on The European Tour in March 2012 when he won the Open de Andalucía Costa del Sol in his fourth event of the season, carding a magnificent 64 in the last round to win by two from Matteo Manassero. The win came in the middle of a sequence of seven successive tournaments where he made the cut, and he finished the season 63rd in The Race to Dubai – a huge improvement on his previous campaign at the top tier in 2010, when he was 156th. Both times earned his card from the Challenge Tour Rankings, taking eighth place in 2009 and 13th in 2011. Only took up the game aged 17, but made rapid progress through the amateur ranks before turning professional six years later. Won the Alps Tour Order of Merit in 2007, winning three times en route, and made his Challenge Tour breakthrough in the 2009 Trophée du Golf de Genève on his 29th birthday. Won again on the Challenge Tour in 2011, this time at the Allianz Golf Open de Lyon. Is close friends with fellow Frenchman Thomas Levet, as they play at the same golf club and share the same sponsor. A keen player of squash, tennis and volleyball in his spare time.
