Won the 2010 Mugello Tuscany Open in an impressively consistent debut season on the Challenge Tour. The Dutchman, a keen angler, triumphed in a play-off with Thorbjørn Olesen after nearly throwing away victory. Having opened up a three shot lead, he bogeyed the 16th and 17th holes to fall one behind Olesen, but on the last mustered the “best shot” of his fledgling career, a superb three wood from 239 yards to six feet to set up an eagle chance. He pushed the putt wide, but settled for birdie and a place in the play-off, which he won with a birdie at the second extra hole. Added another four top fives to finish fourth in the Rankings. Was a member of The Netherlands’ 2008 Eisenhower Trophy team, alongside Richard Kind and Reinier Saxton.
