Biography

First picked up a golf club at the age of 11, when his grandfather introduced him to the game. Subsequently played a lot with his father, who was a keen golfer, and cites the two men as having the biggest influences on his career. “My father was particularly influential as he would watch me play everywhere when I was an amateur,” he said. Idolised Tiger Woods and turned professional in 2006. Played three seasons on the Alps Tour before moving up to the Challenge Tour, where he finished 80th in the Rankings in 2010 and 32nd the following year. Nearly won his maiden title at the Allianz Open Côtes d’Armor Bretagne 2010 but was runner-up behind Sam Walker, and matched that performance in 2011 with a second place finish at the English Challenge. Scraped through the 2011 Qualifying School Final Stage, taking the 37th and final card on offer despite a three over par 75 in the last round. Enjoys films, fine food and socialising with friends when he is not on the golf course.
